BAM would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers who helped out at last Sunday’s camp (November 19) for all their hard work in preparing the Falcon Lake Biathlon facilities and trails, prepping the course for this seasons race events. Many parents turned up to assist in getting the facility into tip top shape!
Biathlon Manitoba is requesting expressions of interest for the position of team manager for the February, 2019 Canada Games. A requirement for this position is that the person selected for the position must also act as team manager for the Canadian Western Championships in February 23-25, 2018. A job description is attached below. A number of the tasks listed are actually completed by Sport Manitoba and simply sent to the manager for distribution.
Please submit a brief description of your group management experience to the Biathlon Manitoba office. And please call if you have questions.

On November 19, during the BAM Open Camp, we will need all the hands we can get to do range and trail maintenance for the upcoming Biathlon race season. The more volunteers the merrier! If you are able and willing, contact Brian Walters at firstname.lastname@example.org

Registration on Zone 4 is now live for the November 19th Biathlon Camp at Falcon Lake. It is a one day camp and open to any BAM member. Hope to see many of you there!

Congratulations to Ron Pelletier in being elected to Biathlon Canada’s Board Of Directors! Ron has been a dedicated coach and parent volunteer through the years and we wish him all the best!
First off, Good luck to our Biathlon Manitoba athletes and Masters athletes as we edge ever closer to the 2017-18 race season. Training is ramping up and I’m sure snow is on many an athlete’s mind.
Alas, Some of our younger athletes (not so young anymore) who have represented Manitoba on the Biathlon Race Team for many years have moved on to expand their horizons. We wish them all the best on their new endeavours! Here they are.
Ian Mitchell of RRNS&B is off to Augustana Campus in Alberta and skiing for the Augustana Vikings
Bowen LeMay of RRNS&B is studying Aerospace Engineering at Carleton University in Ottawa and hopes to ski with the University Nordic team
Emily Davidson of Birch Mountain Sports is currently overseas in an exchange program in Finland.

Canada Games Wax Technician
The Canada Games Wax Technician is responsible for the following duties and roles under the direction of the Head Coach:
- implement the established BAM team waxing protocol while at 2018 Westerns, and at 2019 Canada Games;
- assist in the appropriate equipment selection for CWG athletes;
- provide daily maintenance of CWG team equipment and athlete ski equipment;
- provide necessary team logistics and in competition support as established by the Head Coach;
- communicates and exemplifies standards for skill, passion for excellence, determination, adaptability, bravery, fair play, respect for the rules;
Just a reminder that we have a Fall training camp coming up on September 16 – 17. Canada Games athletes will participate both days and all other athletes of all skill levels are invited to attend on Sunday, the 17th. See everyone there.
